PP Magam solves theft case, arrested 01 accused, stolen property recovered

Handwara  April 03 :Continuing its efforts against criminal offenders, Handwara Police arrested one accused in theft case and recovered stolen property.

On April 02, 2023, FIR No. 71/2023 U/s 457, 380 IPC had been registered at Police Station Handwara for the theft of batteries from Govt. Higher Secondary School Warpora Magam. A team led by IC PP Magam immediately swung into action. Based on leads developed during investigation, statements of witnesses and technical evidence, the accused involved in the offence was identified, traced and arrested. The accused has been identified as Mohd Maqbool Sheikh, S/O Gh Haider, R/O Sher Colony Sopore Based on his disclosure, the stolen property (16 batteries) have been recovered. The vehicle (Maruti 800) bearing regd. No. JK09/2263 used in the comission of crime has also been seized.

Further investigation in the case is going on to ascertain further involvement of accused person in other theft cases.
